An atomic can put a stop to a busy city in no time, and the effects are like no other. Most countries never think that anything bad will happen to them. That’s what Japan thought. On August 6, 1945 the United States sent an Air Force Airman to drop an atomic bomb on the city of Hiroshima. Japan and the city of Hiroshima had no idea that it was coming. Then three days later they sent another Airman dropped another bomb on the city Nagasaki. The names were “Little Boy” and “Fat Man.” Little Boy was the bomb that was dropped on the city of Hiroshima. Fat Man was the bomb that was dropped on the city of Nagasaki(“Bombing,N.P.). Although, the Bombing of Japan ended the war sooner, it left a lasting devastation and sickness. This device splits the nuclei of the atoms to generate its power. To be able to understand the effects of the atomic bomb, you must understand the bomb. An atomic bomb sends out radioactive isotopes which are Uranium 325 and Plutonium 239. This device splits the nuclei of the atoms to generate its power (“atomic n.p.). It creates the same power as 20,000 tons of TNT or 40,000 pounds of TNT. This process is called nuclear fission (“atomic n.p.). The making of this bomb was a very tedious project, and no one thought that it could be done. They got it done, though. The result of the bomb was chaos. The bomb ended up burning about 4.4 miles of land (“atomic n.p.). It ended up destroying thousands of homes and people that lived outside of the bombs radius was…
