This almost pushes the audience into fall into the depths of his language like divers swimming deep in the ocean. [D: Simile] In the same way, the phrase “The general principle is entirely clear. There is no great difficulty in carrying it out in its detail”(28-30) [E: Quote] helps persuade the audience into the writer's ideology in a sense that many people agree with those who act as if they know what they are talking about. Similarly, the writer uses a variety of positive and negative connotation. Many people would agree that in today's society the greater population deserves to win. This argument can carry over into many other topics and become an analogy itself. For example, the presidential elections and controversial laws should be determined by the public opinion and therefore allowing the majority to win.[D: real life situation] Topics such as abortion are discussed similarly, after the vote the side with the majority takes the trump over the minority side.
