The Panthers are one of the few teams in the NFL to own the stadium they play in, which is legally registered as Panthers Stadium, LLC.[6] The Panthers are supported throughout the Carolinas; although the team has played their home games in Charlotte since the completion of their stadium in 1996, they played home games in Clemson, South Carolina, during their first season, and they host their annual training camp in Spartanburg, South Carolina. At home games, the atmosphere has been described as comparable to that of other NFL teams, with some games playing host to a large number of fans of the opposing team; this has been attributed to several factors, such as the city's relatively recent entry into the NFL, the popularity of basketball in the Charlotte region, and the large number of Charlotte residents who are originally from other cities with NFL teams. The Panthers' uniforms consist of black, white, and blue jerseys paired with white and silver pants, a pattern which has only seen minor changes since the team's…

In the court case that the NFL was brought into, the NFL decided to switch to an electronic database, to show that they are and will pay attention to head injuries. The database that is being used by the NFL was provided by Westborough based eClinicalWorks (Kotz). This will help study long term injuries to the head, because now the NFL has the power to keep all the records in the database. Another way that this database will help with long-term injuries is the studying of dementia (Kotz). Dementia is common throughout retired professional football players, and can now be studied furthermore because of the result of the new database.…

After defeating the Atlanta Falcons last Sunday for their second straight victory, the Philadelphia Eagles took their talents on the road to CenturyLink Field against the Seattle Seahawks. The Eagles came into today's game with a record of 1-4 on the road. Nevertheless, the Eagles were not able to change their fortunes as they were dominated on both sides of the ball, losing to the Seahawks 26-15. To open up the game, the Eagles' defense did an excellent job of forcing Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson and their offense into an early 3 and out.…

The Carolina Panthers are enjoying their bye week in the best position possible at 4-0. The last time this team was undefeated was 2003; when we made it to the Super Bowl I'd say that is good karma. Many around the league have called us “the worst undefeated team due to the lack of competition we faced early in the year. My response to that is we don't make the schedule and the reality is in any sport anyone can win on any day. I will echo head coach Ron Rivera's sentiments when he said we are not going to apologize for being undefeated.…

Oh what a difference a beard make, the New York Jets three weeks ago was written off out of the playoff picture the Jets who started the season 4-2 through the first 6 games was posed to be serious threat. However after finishing 5-5 through 11 weeks there was grumbles of replacing Ryan Fitzpatrick as quarterback with Geno (yes I said Geno) smith from the fan base, which after Fitzpatrick trimmed his beard the jets turn right back around and are on current three game winning streak since. Key to win: The Jets front seven on defense are 1st in the NFL of the run but are 18th in passing though they should have a good showing in Saturday’s game, they will need to stop giving up big plays through the air down the field, the jets have been burned too many times with big plays in terms of yards down the field due to blown coverage’s and mistakes on who they are covering. The jets cannot afford to give up big plays against Dez Bryant and Jason Witten, as well as the jets special teams cannot keep making coverage mistakes as well, the jets spherical team has allowed 6 touchdowns this season via the punt return and kickoff return.…

Without Dez Bryant, the Dallas Cowboys' offense has been crippled In hopes to improve an offense that’s struggling, the Dallas Cowboys, who’ve been snake bitten with injuries, have made a change at quarterback. Without quarterback Tony Romo, their four-time Pro Bowler and all-time franchise leading passer, the Cowboys were forced to roll with the arm of backup Brandon Weeden, after Romo fractured his left clavicle against the Eagles in Week 2. In three starts, Weeden completed 71 of 98 attempts, completing 72.4 percent of his passes. That looks sexy on paper, but with Weeden under center, Dallas’ passing game didn’t generate plays beyond intermediate distances to stretch opposing defenses for big plays.…

The Washington redskins has been a national football team since 1932. "Redskins" is a a name used originally by native Americans, and also approved by local natives. I believe the redskins name shouldn't be changed because the name gives pride and honor to the redskins tribe. Charles Krauthammer states how years ago, the word "retarded" was simply a word meaning idiotic, but was made into a derogatory term used against the disabled. So the issue is not the team name itself but the ability to change the name.…

The Buccaneers haven’t exactly kept it a secret that they will spend a lot of time this season running a no-huddle, hurry-up offense. Second year quarterback Jameis Winston and the Bucs offense put together their best game of the preseason against the Cleveland Browns when Tampa ran out of the no-huddle every play the starters were on the field. Head coach Dirk Koetter surely couldn’t expect to use the hurry-up approach that much in a regular season game, could he? Winston and the offense have all said they would rather operate out of the no-huddle system.…

Kansas City Chiefs (11-5) at Houston Texans (9-7) What a season it has been for the Kansas City Chiefs. The Chiefs were left for dead after starting the season 1-5, averaging 21.2 points per game over their first six contests. Since the dreadful start, Kansas City closed the regular season with 10 straight wins and has averaged 27.8 points per game over that stretch. Chiefs quarterback Alex Smith and a stout Kansas City defense have been the primary reason for the team’s turnaround. Smith has been virtually error-free this season as he has turned the ball over just seven times while producing 22 touchdowns.…

This team showed great adversity yesterday. Now I know this game should not have been as close as it was and that needs to be fixed. But for this young Buccaneers team to come out and surrender a two score lead and still overcome adversity is an impressive feat and shows growth with this Bucs team. So many times in the past, we have watched our Bucs slowly self destruct and lose big leads and never get them back. Yes the Bucs should have blown them out, yes the Bucs still suffer from the kicking blues (as of yesterday), yes the Bucs didn't get a sack against a lackluster Giants offensive lineman.…

After the Panthers’ much-needed 30-20 victory over the Arizona Cardinals this past Sunday, Newton threw down the gauntlet against NFL officiating crews for putting his safety in jeopardy with missed calls on questionable hits. However, Newton’s claims have already been debunked. Henceforth, he should focus on adjusting his game to mitigate the hits he does experience instead of looking for someone to blame.…
