The classroom is set up with different sections, the sections were mainly a story mat, desks, a cozy reading area and a group table. Other techniques that Mrs. Breen used was the pulling of names on popsicle sticks to call on students, not just the ones that were raising their hands. Another management technique that was used was a “brain break” where a few students chose a short activity to do to help the students refocus in a fun, physical way. Breen’s efforts to teach Christianly she faces the obstacles of having to deal with her own personal sins and past experiences. Some advice that she gave to Karli on enhancing student motivation for learning is to build relationships with students and the student’s family to build a solid trust foundation to let them know that it is a safe environment. She encourages that a teacher gets to know information about the student as they can.
