The Astonishing Book 'The Giver'

Recently I've been reading an astonishing book called The Giver. The Giver has brought me tons of knowledge regarding every genre you could ever imagine. The Giver is mostly about a boy named Jonas, who lives in a dystopian society. The book explains everything that happens in the society very detailedly so it is easy to get into character.

One thing that really caught my interest was when Jonas was dishonest to Asher. This caught my interest because Asher and Jonas are truly good friends and I would have never thought that one would lie to the other. Although I know Asher is his friend, I also know that Jonas is now allowed to lie and he didn't tell Asher because he didn't think it was good to tell him. It is mouth opening how much he has experienced at such a young age! Jonas has gone through the war, he has experienced snow, he has experienced Christmas, and the list goes on and on. That is such a privilege! If I was Jonas I would feel really honored because out of all the children, I was the special one that had been chosen! Going through all this new experiences and emotions must be thrilling for Jonas!

As I'm reading the book, I'm always wondering one thing, can Gabriel become a Receiver in the future? I believe he has the opportunity to be a Receiver because he has the quality that is needed, light colored eyes. Although, I'm still worried because in the book they're talking about Gabriel may be being released. My biggest hopes are that Gabriel starts behaving "normal" and in the future he becomes a Receiver just like Jonas did so he can be his mentor. I believe only people with light eye color can be the Receiver since they need to be able to see color and dark eye colors people can't
