The book described the trials and tribulations of Ashley Coulter, her brother and children placed in a foster home program and how as a child she was taken from her mother along with her younger brother where she stayed for ten years Although Ashley endured those tragedies during her adolescent, she exhibited a spirit and tenacity that allowed her to overcome those stumbling blocks while excelling in all facets of education. This led to her garner numerous scholarships, attendance at college receiving numerous degrees and accolades during her crusade of reforming the foster care system. This story had a successful outcome, although the story did not describe what type of therapy she received, I’m sure it was a type of therapy that did change her behavior to accept her adopted family as a family that loved her unconditionally. Finally, Ashley’s story directly relates to this course title “Multisystem Family. Ashley as I said in my presentation, was a success story as she was adopted by parents that loved her unconditional and assisted her in fighting the demons that she experienced as a foster child. Later, she became a loving mother, obtained her BA degree; became an inspirational speaker and the voice of other foster children that could not speak for themselves. Throughout her ordeal she obtained exceptional grades from the age of four throughout her education in fact, she was selected into a program for gifted children, her life flourished. However, she is the exception to the rule whereas, Luke, her brother fell into the category of most foster children that are abandoned.
