Confidentiality Essay

Mr. Wilson and I sit down to start his assessment. I explain what the assessment is for and confidentiality. We first start by obtaining personal information. He gives me his full name, his address, and talks about his wife who passed away. While talking about his wife I asked if he had other family members. Mr. Wilson told me he had a daughter and a pet dog. He told me he used to work as a farmer but know he just enjoys siting with his dog on the porch. I asked if he had any close Nabors but he said his closest neighbor was about five minutes away and his daughter lived about thirty minutes away. I then asked Mr. Wilson if he had any hobbies he liked to do. He said he enjoyed fishing and goes to church when his daughter could pick him up. Mr. Wilson told me he has poor eye sight so he drives his club cart to the pond to fish but he doesn’t drive on the road anymore. He said his daughter takes him where he needs to go and pays his bills. I noticed that Mr. Wilson only talks about two people being active in his life so I asked if he ever feels lonely. He said he gets daily calls from his daughter but he does miss his wife. I told Mr. Wilson I was sorry for his loss. Next, I asked Mr. Wilson if he has started noticing any physical limitations and how was he handling them. He told me since he developed his heart disease he get short of breath while walking around his farm. He told me he had put benches around the farm in case he has to sit down and that his daughter makes him carry a cell phone where ever he goes. Mr. Wilson has medication that his doctor requires him to take to help his high blood pressure and his heart problem, so I asked how he receives his medicine. He explained to me that his daughter comes over every Sunday night and fills up the fridge and puts his …show more content…
The only thing that stressed him out was watching his favorite football team lose. He showed me a newspaper of the reviews of the football games. He read me the scores and figured out the players averages, he even completed the crossword in the back. Mr. Wilson had no problem processing information or remembering information. Mr. Wilson seem to be in a good mood, so I asked if he ever felt depressed. He replied the only day I felt depressed in when my wife passed away. However, he was looking forward to see her again and when he got to see her he didn’t want her to be mad at him for moping around. The last question I asked Mr. Wilson was if he had any financial resources and if he felt his house meet his needs. He explained that his retirement fund covers his bills and his insurance pays for any metical need. As far as his home he said he had ramps, chairs placed around the home and outside, and he had a hospital style bed. Mr. Wilson seemed to have everything he needed to live out the rest of his years comfortably. He had two people close to him if he needed him, a safe home to live in, and was very active for his age. If any services are need I would suggest home health to come visit once a week to make sure his vitals
