Birdie prefers to take notes in class. Later she will take the same notes read it over several times and then condense it with examples and also turn it into a question and answer type format. Birdie learns well when she has an understanding of the information she is attempting to acquire and learns best from personal experience. Birdie prefers to study without noise or distraction and rarely understands why people find importance in some things.
Similarity in learning preference and learning , According to Vark the multi factoral learner incorporates a variety of learning styles and is adaptable to new ways of learning as they use the learning style most suitable to the current tutelage. With the exception of the visual learning style Birdie is adaptable. Birdie frequents the library and spends a lot of time reading up on subjects because she has to understand what she is learning. Due to the multimodal aspect of her learning habits, Birdie has more than one strong point in her learning habits. She is able to choose and adapt to a style of learning that will best fit the situation and course material. Birdie has good study habits in the library and if a situation requires more hands on participation she is also able to learn this way. Birdie’s weak point is the Visual aspect of learning as evidenced by a zero score on visual in the Vark questionnaire.
