The officials who had more education felt like they ruled over Lincoln, many people idealized him. Lincoln had rungs of national leadership by him being hard working. When he ran for president he was on the republican side. The republican party was young, inexperienced, and it quickly grew an influence. On April 15 1865, 7:22 am he lived nine hours after Booth shot Lincoln. Flags were lowered to hail-staff. They were a weeping crowed around the Peterson house.
