We as a society I believe have not believe as a whole that African American men can do anything besides run fast or jump high. In my own social life I experience it and encounter this from a time to time basis. Through history our minds were shaped by this notion of only being the strongest and fastest. It better helps the researcher understand what he or she is researching it also helps but with different ideas to help you better to understand what is being researched prior to what you are searching for. A literature review helps making researching more assessable for the researcher and a easier time instead of going through big books and other articles looking for the research that you are looking for. The type of social psychological literature I would be interest in would be those on different types of mental illnesses. This would interest me most because this is the current field I am working in which deals with teenagers with mental illnesses all the way to at risk teens. I have always found interest in this and it has always intrigued me by how intelligent some of these people can be even having the disadvantages that face them.
