This mass accumulation of emotions and actions led to the Boston riots. The Boston riots occurred this past year, and were focused on the inequality shown to those with African American descent. People were burning cars, and buildings and trash. Bricks and stones were thrown through windows and used to smash cars. Consequently, the police force was brought down to help subdue the masses, but their presence only caused the mob to become angrier. The police came decked out in full body armor, gun vest, the Plexiglas shields, guns, cans of pepper spray, and batons. These weapons were used freely to encourage the mob to disperse, as well as tear gas. We deal with the racism of Mexicans, because we have many that come for work directly from Mexico. Worland is a big farming community, with many fields that need workers to help seed, weed, water and harvest. As a result, there is a lot of manual labor that is needed to help care for everything. Many people who come to work in Worland, only have a work visa, and aren 't truly American. This causes some prejudice among many of the older generations of Worland who is not acquainted with the new ways of society.
Even at the young age of 16, I have dealt with racism throughout my life, even though it 's been nearly two hundred years since the slaves ' emancipation. That is entirely too long to still be dealing with this issue. People need to see others for their character, not the color of their skin. I feel that if whites were scrutinized, we would feel the need to act, just as people of other races have. Hopefully through this next century, people will learn this valuable lesson and carry it into the future
