It was a January twenty something, year two thousand fifteen, I was in my English class and I was told to register for the ACT taking place on February the seventh. I believe if I were to be more Cognitive Flexible in that moment, I would not find myself it that horrible situation. Cognitive Flexibility is one out of three characteristics of formal-operational thought, it avoids retreating into either emotions or intellect. Someone who is cognitive flexible they tend to reflect on their options, and avoid combining emotions and reason, and they take time to select the best solution. I was not flexible at all because I let my ego over rule me, I did what I thought it was right. I did not listen to my teacher nor the other students. I went straight to my own gut feeling and nothing changed that. I did not listen to others, neither consider my options or diverse opinions, and clearly I did not show any flexibility.
