Out of the several artists that are mentioned in Chapter Ten, my favorite would have to be Leonardo da Vinci. The textbook says, “[He was] one of the greatest painters of all time,” and I fully agree with that statement. Mona Lisa and The Last Supper are some of the most iconic pieces of art throughout the entire history of human existence. Everyone knows what they are and what they look like. Leonardo da Vinci’s The Last Supper is seen as the most iconic religious painting in the world. The closet religious painting that could touch it would be Michelangelo’s The Creation of Adam. Along with it being one of his most famous pieces, it is also one of the most studied and scrutinized pieces of all time. He was terrified to find some sort of hideous monster inside the cave, but yet he was driven by great curiosity to find out what was inside of it. I believe that his paintings reflect this lesson. He wasn’t afraid to take risks if he could somehow find a reward at the end. Throughout his many professions and great success through each of them, Leonardo da Vinci has outlived his popularity at the time to become of one the greatest artists of all time. I think all of the credit he has earned it well
