The Arrow Symbolism

In the television series Arrow, creators Greg Berlanti, Andrew Kreisberg, and Marc Guggenheim write a story about a spoiled billionaire named Oliver Queen played by Stephen Amell, who went missing for five years only to return a different man. When Oliver Queen returns home, he becomes a vigilante hiding behind a hood and green suit, trying to fix all of the wrongs that his father had told him to fix in his hometown of Star City. It is not just Oliver, who is trying to save the city, but his friends John Diggle played by David Ramsey, who is an ex-marine and Felicity Smoak played by Emily Rickards, who is one of the best computer hackers in the city are also helping him with his duties of saving the city as a vigilante. The reason I believe this is the symbol within this film is because it represents when Oliver turns off his normal everyday billionaire persona and becomes a crime fighting badass that gives unlawful justice to Star City. The suit is green with a large hood on top that masks his face when he is out in the public fighting crime. The design of the suit is based off of what he wore when he was stranded on the island and was fighting the mercenary army with Slade Wilson. It is the color green because when he was on the island he used that color to help blend in with the forest surroundings when he was either hunting or fighting. It is a great symbol within this show because the show would not really exist without it. No one wants to watch a show about a normal guy fighting crime in his casual attire. People want to watch a show where someone is a causal person by day, but right when they put on their suit they become a vigilante by night. The suit is what gives this show its popular appeal and is why I believe it is the symbol of this
