What does it mean to act with courage or heroism? Acts of courage and heroism could save yours or a loved one’s life. In the Arrow, Oliver Queen is kept captained with his mom and his sister and Oliver is going to die to keep them alive. Acts of courage and heroism takes place when Oliver almost died for his family in The Arrow, when Ryan from Run by Winter Douglass loses his life so his friend could live, and when Freddy jumped in front of a truck so Carly in ICarly wouldn't get hurt.

Ryan and Jake were crossing a bridge late at night when they came upon a bridge. They both saw there was a guy with a knife coming closer. The bridge was very shaky and couldn’t support both. Ryan told Jake “You go and run fast and don’t look back” (Alex 56). This is an example of heroism and courage because Ryan does not want to mothers to cry tonight, he would rather have one then two. So he took his life for Ryan so he could see his mother. “I would rather have one mother cry than two tonight” (Alex 71). In the end, Jake made it home but Ryan did not. He passed away right as he said his last words.
