As college looms closer, student debt rears its ugly, giant, one-eyed self; while it has been docile for the past three years as a mere sheep herder, suddenly it has sensed I have landed on its shores and has launched itself at me full-speed. You hear stories of this monster and you hear of those who have overcome it heroically; unlike them, you then may think you’re not strong enough, or smart enough, or agile enough, but we are all going to have to face the monster anyway so us students might as well give it our best shot. As the first of many weapons against outstanding student debt, the $1500 I may receive from the Teaneck High Class of 1981 Scholarship Fund will benefit me tremendously during my college journey.
