The sun shimmers across the balcony floor in a dancing wave of light, not a cloud in sight and only the slight breeze through the trees gives any character to todays summer weather. I remember being a child, when the weather was either radiating or the polar opposite; When it was too hot in the summer and unbearably cold in the winter, leaving the house was always a chore which either required you to be almost naked or hold five layers on your torso. That was before the anti-global warming act of 2032, an act which joined all nations and their people in an effort to save our planet. I’m happy to have been born within the Great nation, the effects of global warming were not as severe as they were in other countries, we got off easy. Further …show more content…
I wrap my hair in a single tie and allow it to hang like a mossy bank. Unlike most people’s wardrobes, mine is considered exotic as it consists of clothing with vibrant colours in a time when most people fashion beige and cream; Although my style is more expensive, I’ve never been one to conform to societal norms. And if my clothing doesn’t separate me from the crowd enough, there is always my dark forest green hair which cost quite an amount to get and therefore I won’t be getting rid of it any time soon, it’s also a painful process as it involve genetically modifying the gene that codes for your hair colour, this way no pollutants are involved and the colour doesn’t fade over …show more content…
Even though my apartment is open plan, my bedroom is separated from my kitchen/lounge by a step. Most new developments are made with less walls, as they require less work and power, creating less pollution. I bend down to open my fridge and am hit with a rush of escaping cold air, looking in, there aren’t many options for my breakfast. I decided that oatmeal seems like a suitable option which I can colourfully decorate with strawberry, banana and honey. I reach in and take out my tub of ready sliced strawberries, closing the fridge with me foot, I turn to the island behind me that contains all my dry ingredients, or as they use to call it, my pantry. I take out the instant oat sachet, honey and pick a slightly browned banana from the basket on the counter. Using the kettle I boil some water, pour my sachet mix in a bowl and combine the two, I then slice my banana, drizzle my honey on my oatmeal, apply my fruit and “voila!” A breakfast perfect for a birthday

Everyone loves the warm weather of the summer. The sun beating down, heating up the once icy ground after a winter with scarcely any reprieve from it’s brutal conditions. Many even travel throughout the colder months to places that experience summer virtually all year long. But at what point does something so wonderful become dangerous? With the temperature at such a prime point for an extended period of time, catastrophic events will begin to occur.…

I moved to Yuba City, California approximately twelve years ago and have lived there ever since. I chose to analyze the climate trends of Yuba City because, even though I may move away soon after graduating college, it is where my parents will continue to live and I would like to have an idea of future climate changes in their city. Yuba City is a fairly small town in Sutter County with a population of 65,416 people (United States Census, 2013). It is located on the Feather River 45 miles north of Sacramento at latitude: 39.140 and longitude: -121.617 (LatLong.net, 2015). It was founded in 1849, established as a distribution center for supplying the Gold Rush 49ers (Yuba City, 2000a).…

To reduce the use of fossil fuels, we must convince US Congress to reduce co2 emissions by converting to renewable energy sources in our industries. Yet, our government continues to dismiss the existence of global warming. Speaking of government attitudes concerning this topic, President Trump proclaims in a tweet that we, "could use a little bit of that good old Global Warming." In response to recent cold fronts in the US.…

Being environmentally conscious has been the focus of many people for several years, and by judging how much the media has begun to cover such a topic, it will be the concern of more and more people as time passes. Since this planet is the only one we have to live on so far, we need to take care of it the best we possibly can before it’s too late to fix our mistakes. To start, each person will need to see the reason behind taking care of our planet, which is that global warming is a legitimate issue, and every single person on the planet can either make a positive or negative impact on it. Each of the essays I evaluated spoke of different issues regarding or touching on global warming that I had not previously thought too much about, and effectively…

In different parts of the globe, identities are shifting, transcending or disappearing from the world. Whether these events were forced to occur or not, the result is that the words ‘diversity’ and ‘freedom’ become less truthful. There are currently people in the world who suffer from conditions that derive from major influences such as environmental, political or eternal tribulations. Considering these factors, should we not take precautions to prevent any future problems? The growing epidemic of climate change is among us, yet we seem to be stagnant in trying to stop it.…

Chop It All Off Two years ago, I had long, luscious, golden blonde hair that fell down to my waist, and I absolutely hated it. Everyone else seemed to love it, though, so I kept it. I dealt with the static, the lengthy drying time, and the hours of styling that I had dealt with ever since I was little, all because I wanted to be loved and accepted. I wanted to fit into the box of typical girls my age who all had the exact same haircut so that I would be considered “pretty” by the rest of my classmates, but I felt miserable in that box and I didn’t know how to escape.…

When I grow up, I want to change the world! Changing the world one day would make me feel really good. Three ways I would change the world are: make sure everyone has a shelter to live in; help more lost, sick, and hurt animals, and make sure no one is hungry. I would like to help homeless people have a nice place to stay. When I’m driving downtown I see a lot of homeless people on the streets; dirty, and sad.…

It wouldn’t be too long until I could get out of bed and wake my parents, my four-year old self thought. I was always the first one up at the crack of dawn, but I ended up getting yelled at if I awoke their somber sleep. Once my stomach started growling and gurgling, I decide that it’s time to stampede my mom and dad’s room. The bright sun singed my eyes as it entered through all of the opened windows of my home.…

Cold Comfort for “Global Warming” Philip Scott’s essay “Cold Comfort for Global Warming” talks about what he considers to be “myths” associated with global warming. His purpose is to convey that, changes in our environment and climate are not all due to global warming. Some are indeed just nature taking its course. He utilizes a sarcastic, yet direct tone in hopes to have readers think twice about the effects of “human induced global warming.”…

Anyone can have valid information, but the way they present it can affect their credibility. In the speech “Global warming alarmism reaches a tipping point” by Senator James Inhofe, he points out the targeted audience of global warming films. In his speech he uses a lot of ad hominems in an attempt to make his target lose credibility or damage their reputation, he uses fallacies against the person who made them to make them appear less credible, and he over uses pathos appeal which caused him to lose credibility. Inhofe’s speech is the least credible because he uses ad hominem attacks to discredit DiCaprio.…

Zipping up the last of suitcases, we headed to Burlington coat factory for ski pants and coats. We made payment on the clothing and went back home.…
