Domestic violence is a cultural problem and also can be closely associated with financial issues in addition to being a cultural problem. While there could be several reasons for causation factors of domestic violence, two closely associated causes are domestic violence is more or less a way of life as the abusers or victims could have possibly watched their parents. This visual reminder would enforce the fact that it is an accepted custom. The cost associated with domestic violence can be categorized into several different lists, each affecting society and the justice system. The article Community Costs of Domestic Violence list the following services: healthcare services, social and welfare services, counseling, police and criminal justice services, legal services, transportation costs, and housing and other refuge services used by victims of domestic violence and special education services used to treat children of abused women ("Community Costs of Domestic Violence," 2011).
The growth of the anti-domestic violence movement, and the anti-violence against women will do nothing but bring to the forefront the situation women face and provide and educational aspect to the criminal aspect. This type of educational aspect brings a public value and lends legitimacy which in turn leads to connectivity to the public, which provides more life lessons than just a procedural justice. This will not be accomplished in days, weeks, or months, but rather years or decades, but one day hopefully society will rid itself of this
