Family Fest Analysis

Improved Essays
This past week, I have been helping my church prepare for the annual family fest held on Halloween and I asked a girl I met last April who is from Thailand to help me put flyers into the bags we hand out to all of the people that come to the family fest. This young girl’s name was June and she is in high school. She moved to the United States with her parents last year. Her parents have previously lived in the United States, and after growing up and living with some of her family in Thailand, she has moved back to the United States with her parents.
About six months ago, one of the students that attend the youth group on Wednesday nights invited June to church and I got to visit with her and get to know her a little better. She came a couple

We started chatting about her family and school. She enjoys hanging out with her American friends and loves teaching them her language. Her father works in a business his brother owns and her mother is a stay at home mom. She asked me about my family, and I told her about my mom and sister, and that I grew up in church and a Christian family. I told her about when my father passed away when I was in high school and how my church family really helped me through that difficult time. She then started asking me about my home church in Abilene, Texas, and what it was like to go to church there. She was very curious about the culture I grew up in because her family has never been religious and didn’t go to church. She did not experience growing up with a church family. I told her about the times that I really struggled with something, whether it be related to my faith or not, my church family and friends were a group of people I could always count on and who always held me accountable for my actions. I think she really understood this because she had come to the church before and had seen how people interacted with one another. From what little she observed, she could easily understood why a church is called a …show more content…
I summed up Jesus’s life and ministry and I told her a few of my favorite stories about the miracles of Jesus like the feeding of the five thousand, and the raising of Lazarus from the dead. I then told her the story of Jesus’s death and how he was resurrected. I asked her what was the best news she had ever gotten. She told me that it was when her family told her that she would be moving to the United States. I told her that the best news I ever got was when I found out that I got a new job at a church as their children’s minister. I then told her that, to me, the Gospel is the best news that is so transforming that it makes the good news that you receive seem insignificant. The news is that there really is a God and that God loves us more than anything. I told her that He knows us and has counted every hair on our heads, He loves us with an endless love that knows no boundaries, and we can know Him and have a relationship with Him. I asked her if she understood what I had said and she did. She told me that she believed that there was a God, but she didn’t know that He loved her. She also wanted to know about having a relationship with God. She asked about my relationship with God, and this was the perfect opportunity for me to share my testimony with her. I told her that I accepted Jesus Christ as my savior and I believe that He paid

I chose to analyze the The Family - 1941 portray for this essay because I like the usage of the colors on this work. I feel confident analyzing colors in artworks because I learned about the emotions transmitted through colors in various art classes that I took in High School and College. Most art professors like to stress the importance of color in a work of art. They say that the understanding of the usage of the colors in a piece is important when criticizing an artwork. Family Theory Assessments and Application of Family Interventions According to the Family Theory, each part of a system is interrelated, dependent on each other, and affects one another (Codina Leik, 2014). Therefore, if one part of the system is damaged or dysfunctional, such as one member of a family, the rest of the system or family is also affected (Codina Leik, 2014). It is extremely important to incorporate this theory into assessments and family interventions in primary care. Both of my preceptors incorporated this system into their assessments and care.…

A natural observation was made involving a family discussing where to eat lunch. Each individual played an intricate role in the exchange, either with his or her direct, or lack of, interactions with the other members of the family. I will apply the systems theory of family to the observation and discuss the concept of power, and how certain sources of power were drawn upon during the exchange. The observation took place at a busy mall on a Saturday at 11:39 am until 12:03 pm after all parties left the area.…
