The Annex, was a hiding place for the Frank and van dans.They stayed there for about two years until they were found.( August 21, 1942- August 4, 1944) The Annex was a perfect place for a family the door was hidden by a huge bookcase, it had 2 rooms, a kitchen, windows and a bathroom all in an attic like room. It was fine at first but soon became too much to deal with, the family were beginning to get irritated with each other. The food supply was getting lower and lower as the days went on. There was little or no privacy and the walls seemed to be closing in. The Annex was located in The business on Prinsengracht 263, this is where most office buildings are located. The annex was apart of Otto's business building. The rooms were split up by families , peter and his parents shared a room, margot and the franks shared a room and finally Anne and Mr dussel shared a room. The windows were boarded because the risk of people seeing them is really high, so anne and the family's barely got any natural light.
