Anne’s personality consists of a ample amount of optimism. Through her diary she, and everyone else in the annex laugh and joke about there lives. Everyone in the annex did not realize the brutal road ahead. No one thought they would be caught. Anne was given hope by other family members and friends. While she was in the annex her family and friends would joke and dream about what they will do when the war ends, or how they will manage to live. None of them knew they would be caught and sent to different camps. “I know something much better, we each get hold a wooden packing case from the attic and row with a soup ladle!” (p.147 Anne Frank Diary of a Young Girl) One of Anne’s friends shared this idea on how to escape from the war.
