Laws
As is currently stands, there are absolutely no laws governing the conditions in which animals are farmed. Laws exist to protect domestic animals such as anti-cruelty laws. The vast majority of animal farming practices are seemingly exempt from these state anti-animal cruelty laws. Climate scientists reporting missing figures from the FAO place their number at fifty one percent. The EPA listed agriculture as the source of pollution for forty eight percent of stream/river water as well as forty one percent of lake water. Pollutants include nitrogen and phosphorus, resulting from runoff fertilizer. Limitations should be set to prevent excessive runoff and reduce air/water pollution. Chemical fertilizers should be banned considering natural, decomposable fertilizers exist and work and though they may not be as “cheap”, the costs won’t come later. A system shouldn’t allow high costs to hit later, if the entire market is based on keeping things cheap and saving money, why would we allow debt to build and grow until it can’t be paid
