Speaker note: Through the electronic communication such as video- conferencing, transmission of images, remote monitoring of vital signs, sending health alerts to the patients and providers through body sensors are the features of technology, which updates patient and providers about patients health status. If the health status of a patient is within normal limit, it will automatically store in the record for future reference. If the patient’s health status is unstable, it will send an alert to the patient and provider that they need to connect and make a health plan, which will help them to make a treatment decision on time (The American Telemedicine Association, 2006).
