For the students who are applying online, we wanted to create a direct link to admission, In the same page, we also wanted to create a documentation, visa information, I-20 form with helpful tips and additional contact information if needed. Similarly, we also wanted to use a software for online chat system. This online chat system will provide students with immediate access to help to address concerns and therefore make their application process go more smoothly. This is also crucial for understanding the trends from the questions and concerns that the students ask, which will ultimately help the staff improve specific needs in the future. Social media can play an important role in international students receiving social support and attaining resources for adjusting to college life in a different country (Seo, Harn, Ebrahim & Aldana, 2016). Because of the ineffective communication, we wanted to list all of the media accounts. This includes, but not limited to, Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter. Canales, he mentioned that the biggest problem that they are facing with that is the students will not have a place to stay to attend. He explained that most students stay in hotels the days of orientation since the dorms are not open at that time. Taking that into consideration, we decided to implement an online orientation where students complete a campus orientation before coming to the university then making them attend a mandatory one day orientation once they arrive in the states. Typically, after students have been admitted into the university, they receive an information package about the University, the city, and their documentation information that they use to move to the next steps of coming. In the package, we have decided to include information about the orientation for them to complete. To reinforce important content, the students will complete a quiz at the end. This will allow them to learn about the academic policies, gain insight to campus support services, and learn about the online tools the University presents. When interviewing the international students, we learned the difficulties they faced assimilating into the American lifestyle. Keeping this in mind, we want to include the book Survive and Thrive: The International Student Guide to Studying in the U.S by Tina L. Quick as a mandatory read before the students come into the
