Aunt Martha’s Agency is well known throughout the state of Illinois, mostly for the youth and family based services. Serving over seventy thousand people in over six hundred and fifty counties, this was the reason why Aunt Martha’s was chosen to do a field report. The person that was interviewed had a MSW in Social Work and a Bachelor’s in Business Administration. She formally was in the Social Work profession for four years, but have been volunteering at churches and non-profit organization for fifteen years. The interviewee enjoys helping people and that her main reason for working at Aunt Martha’s feels that one must be passionate to do Social Work. If the situation is severe the personnel would consist of care coordination, health department, Case manager, crisis worker, social worker if needed and community based programs. They would link the client with resources that can help them, if those services are not provided by Aunt Martha’s.
Social Worker Role
There is a professional social worker at Aunt Martha’s. the role of a Social Worker at this agency would depends of the type of service that the client needs at that time. The role can range from therapist, providing assessment, intake or intervention. They can also, be crisis worker, case manager and a counselor. The social worker can also maintain casework according to Medicaid 132. If it’s necessary interview children ages eleven through eighteen, which includes wards of the state and Juvenile delinquencies.

The staff was wearing suits or was dressed in business casual. Also, there was a job fair on the day that I visit and it was very impressive. There were a lot of job venues. There was a diverse number of people there and jobs ranging from fast food restaurants to office jobs. In my opinion the agency is achieving its goal. For health care this agency is the third largest community health center in Illinois. Has the largest provider of dental and behavioral services among community health centers in Illinois. Aunt Martha’s serves three and a half times as many uninsured patients as the average community health center in Illinois. Child welfare over two thousand abused and neglected children receive shelter, health care and care coordination services Illinois’ largest provider of services to families in crisis for one hundred percent of our group home residents receive health care services from an Aunt Martha’s health center. Aunt Martha’s outreach services connect three thousand homeless youth and adults to shelter. Offering health care, employment training and independent living programs. Over twelve hundred preschools, elementary, and high school children received education and community based services. More than three thousand people have completed our employment programs and have gotten jobs in their home
