Black magic has traditionally referred to the use of supernatural powers or magic for evil and selfish purposes. Its intent is to injure, intimidate or control frightened people or creatures. Controlling others with fear is a type of enslavement used by military or political regimes, terrorists. Even a dead person or living person who is acting like a jerk, can become a “soul collector”, in either world. This is practicing evil or sorcery of the worst kind!
Black magic is the malicious, counterpart of the benevolent white magic. Any person using a form of control, manipulation or coercion is not walking a positive spiritual path in that regard. Even jaded people who consider themselves to be “nice” should be very aware of the times they attempt to get others to do things for them.
We should be wary of people who “lords it over others” or bullies the timid or weak. Control or manipulation of others is harmful to the living and to the dead. It can derail, or stop spiritual progress altogether. Negativity can well up causing victims to rebel in an outburst, sometimes quite dramatically.
