Times have changed and with it the youth has also changed. It is now rare to find people helping one another, especially young people. It seems like we have slowly been changing what we once recognized as the norm. we as a whole have lost the sense of morality. The youth have little knowledge of respect and what the effect of this is to their fellow peers. Current generations have changed dramatically socially.
Should respect be earned or given? Many people now want respect to come automatically without them respecting others themselves. In older generations having good manners was taught. It was said that if you want to be respected, you yourself, had to be respectful to others. Now, current generations have little to no respect for others.

They no longer want to work for things. They will disrespect others without a hint of remorse. As Jenni Russel states “It is no longer true that most people aspire to having good manners; many just want to protect their egos in every social encounter. Finally, this new trend is also an example of how kids are being raised. Children reflect what they are taught at home. Children are no longer taught to respect their elders or people of authority. This is largely also an affect that society has. Now if you discipline your children it is called abuse. One as a parent should instill good manners in the home so these good manners are practiced by our children towards others. Respect is a big thing and should not get lost because the changes in society.
Another topic that has arose due to the changes in technology is bullying.”? Now that technology has advances cyberbullying has become a big thing. Cyberbullying pertains to anybody harassing or targeting a peer through social media or any electronic device. Everybody now seems to have some sort of profile.
