This particular case came open on 10/14/2014 when a 31 year old, black unmarried female came into ER and gave birth to a baby girl on 10/13/2014. The baby was on withdrawal precautions due to signs and symptoms of withdrawals of shaking and balling up. The mother did say that she did not have prenatal care because she had just found out that she was pregnant two weeks earlier. She also stated that she drinks and was an alcohol user during pregnancy. Mother came in at 7cm dilated, baby weight was 5lbs 3oz. Mother also has four other kids ages 13, 12, 6 and 3. The youngest two were left home alone to care for themselves when the mother went into labor. The father of the new born was unknown as well as two of the other children. Two of the children are aware of who their fathers are. History show that the mother has been in foster care on two occasions. Also she has a history with her children since 2005. The kids were taken into foster care in 2010 until 2012. In March of 2014 another case was opened …show more content…
In this case assessment I am only going to focus on the mother and the older two children. The reports range from violent physically and verbally to children, inadequate and unstable housing, inadequate food and clothing, neglect of children health, behavior and education, not keeping a steady job. The older two kids have been moved twice from group homes and are currently in a foster home with only the two of them. I would say that my client system is definitely family but individual as well. Micro, Mezzo and Macro: With this particular case when I think micro I want to work with the client on both a family and individual level which entails focusing on personal interaction with each family member.
