Architecture can be traced back to the beginning of civilization, from the mud-brick homes of the Mesopotamian, to the Hagia Sophia of the Byzantine Empire. The Ancient Romans and Greeks were famous for their incorporations of arches and columns into buildings such as aqueducts, temples, or even the bathhouses. The Great Wall of China, though ultimately a failure, was a colossal example of the renowned skills of the ancients.
