The ancient Mesopotamians were the first formed civilization on earth. It was here were we first learned to write, create governments and use other forms of transportation. When one says the word Mesopotamia, they are talking about the land between the Tigris and Euphrates Rivers, in fact the word Mesopotamia means the "land between rivers." It is found in modern day Iraq. There were many different groups of humans living in Mesopotamia including the Sumerians, the Babylonians and the Persians. Mesopotamia is often called the " Cradle of Civilization."
