Rebels of course would join with rebels in conversation about how they did not like how the new government was being run. Now, the question is, what do rebels do when they don’t agree with something? Of course, they rebels started a rebellion which was led by Daniel Shays in Massachusetts. Shay enlisted 2,000 men with him to march down to the capital of Massachusetts, Springfield, demanding state assistance for their debt. As a result, the state militia was called on the rebels resulting in three farmers losing their life. The rebellion would be defeated five months later but the fighting made everyone realize that the country needed a stronger national government.
Yes, the Articles of Confederation experiment was a failure and it was due to each state wanting to satisfy their own needs even at the expense of another states issue really. It didn’t unite the country as it was intended but rather divided it. They needed a document that would truly unite the country behind one purpose.
