Essay On Do You Like The American Education System

Do you like the American education system? Is America superior to other countries when it comes to the level of education we have as opposed to theirs? The answer is no. Statistically speaking, there are other countries that are far more intelligent than the American society. For example, South Korea, a country that has harsher testing techniques to make kids challenge and apply themselves more. The American education system is flawed. To enhance and/or advance this in the near future, teachers and students need to be more vocal and understanding with each other. Unquestionably everyone has encountered a teacher who abuses power, or observed a teacher that has abused his or her power. By doing this, teachers are making it tougher for the student to want to absorb or acquire any information in this class environment, if nothing is equal. I myself have witnessed this first hand, and by observing other incidents consistent to ones like this. I wrote a 7-page paper comparing two dictators, Stalin and Hitler and got a B on it. I had no problem with this until I saw a kid who was very well-liked by our teacher get an A, with only 4 pages written, multiple fragment and grammar errors, …show more content…
Teachers are abusing their power making students not able to really learn when the teacher is using favoritism towards other students. It makes students feel like that moment of, “why try”. Some schools are taking away school activities such as certain clubs or sports, making it to where students have no way of developing their identities, experiencing teamwork, and making friends. By taking these away it also affects the attendance of students, which is also a big issue. Schools aren’t strict enough about attendance, making is impossible for students to want to come to school and learn.
