In the past, the American Dream was to get rich quick with the rapidly growing country. Now, the American Dream is viewed as gigantic houses, expensive cars, and a seemingly endless amount of money to spend any way imaginable. Due to the changing definition of the American Dream, it is now practically unattainable for most. In order for lower-class homes to reach the top, the work has increased to further continue to achieve their dreams. Essentially, those who wish to live their life in pursuit of the American Dream have now had their chances pushed out of reach. The lower-classes dreams being pushed out of reach leaves them with no strong base to build a better future off of. The task of keeping up with the constant updates is relatively difficult for some families due to low income.
