A) Every American Dream has relatively the same outcome: money, power, beauty, and success.
B) However, the path to these rewards depends on each individual.
C) The American Dream fosters a sense of nationalism and hope within the United States; however, it fails to address the racism and white supremacy prevalent in American media that prevents people of color from achieving the American Dream.

A) In my opinion, the American Dream is a fallacy created by elitists to give the public a reason to work, to compete with one another, and to distract the public from the real problems in our society.

Common theme in the American Dream portray is that there can only be a select few
a. that achieve the dream, but everyone has the tools to do so if they use them.
b. For example, job interviews and class rankings are a tool used to determine which candidate is better than another.
c. Jack Solomon, in Masters of Desire: The Culture of American Advertising, reaffirms this idea in his example of a football game and Americans cheering in the crowd, but secretly wanting to be the star quarterback or star cheerleader.
C) What the media fails to inform the public is that not everyone in the competition has the same chances of winning.
a. The odds are already stacked against a competitor before he or she even realizes there is a competition to begin with.
b. Social environments, financial situations, racial backgrounds, and other factors contribute to the competitors already behind in the race for the American Dream
D) Americans become lost in the cloud of the American Dream due to the media preying on Americans’ low self-esteem and desire to be better than everyone
