The American Dream In The Epic America

Times change and so the mentality of the people, modern U.S. has a unique and completely different view of the American Dream. Nowadays it’s more than just a fixed goal that everyone is trying to achieved. In the past, when the concept emerged, people believe that by having multiple properties, owing expense cars, and getting everything that they desired, was a symbol of living the great American dream. People used to have this mindset, and for a good reason, the economy was at its peak, the country was doing great, not only that but nations around the world saw the U.S. as a gold mine. All of these created a perfect scenario for the phrase “The American Dream” to emerged, as the Author of “The Epic America” describes it, “is that dream of a land in which life should be better and richer and fuller for everyone, with opportunity for each according to ability …show more content…
Coming from a college student whose America dream is to have financial stability to be happy and help others; the American dream is not a fixed goal but a world of ideas that one day will become a reality. Daniel Mitchell says, “The American Dream exists all across the country, from the small businesses in every town to the energy entrepreneurs that have created so many jobs and driven down oil and gas prices. The dream can be found in the high-tech start-ups of Silicon Valley, as well as the new manufacturers of the Rust Belt” (Mitchell, Daniel). The American Dream is alive but not in the same form that it used to be; there are millions of people in the U.S. each of them has a different dream. In this day and age, the American dream is use to describe what a person wish to attain, from money all the way to happiness. Many factors affect the process of pursuing this dream, factors that can kill, hold, or launch it. But the essence of the dream is the will of the people, who are eager to do anything to achieve
