In the 1920’s the American dream was what people were aiming to reach throughout their lives. In the book The Great Gatsby by, F.Scott, one of his main characters known as Gatsby is trying to fulfill his American dream. Gatsby fails to reach the dream of reliving his past. Gatsby used illegal crime to make his dreams of wealth become true. Gatsby’s ways of making money was through the distribution of alcohol. At the time the sale of alcohol was illegal due to the prohibition of alcohol. This is where Gatsby would receive most of his money from.
