The poem; The New Colossus by Emma Lazarus, 1883, tells how the statue of liberty was the welcoming mother, of the immigrants. She was the first thing they saw, when the immigrants arrived to the states. Combining the Americans and uniting the new settlers with solidarity. The statue of liberty represents freedom and equality; these values are some of the traditional American values. Generally seen the traditional American values, can be seen in many different contexts. For instance, the values can be seen in The New Colossus and The American Dream. People helps each other, which also can be seen in the documentary. There is places where people in need, can come and get free stuff. Things as furniture can mean a lot to these poor people, because they do not have money enough to buy it themselves, they can barely by food and survive. People on minimum wage do not have material wealth in live, even though they work hard day and night. It is somehow beautiful to see the sadness in this situation, because the outcome is great. People are helping those in need, and standing by each other
