Liza Chavez mentions that Hispanics are more traditional and that they don’t accept the help from welfare. I agree with this because my family has strong beliefs that there is no need for this if we have family members that can help us out. Although some Non-Hispanic Americans are saying that they are taking advantage of resources that they don’t need, which is not true.
Consequently, I believe that the cause for Hispanics having hard time reaching the American Dream is the fact that they don’t have a good education, have other responsibilities like taking care of their families, and because they are being discriminated by other Americans. America is known for “the land of liberty, freedom and pursuit of happiness,” but this is not what Hispanics are finding. They are being discriminated, and this is the cause of why they are not advancing.
