Ame’s Room
Ame’s room is only a distorted optical ilusion. This room was invented by American opthalmolegist Adelbert Ames Jr. in 1934, and constructed in 1935. There are several illusions to this room. The room appears to look cubic from a certain point of view. The next illusion presented in this room is how when you move from side to side the people standing on either corner of the room seem to grow bigger or shrink.
This room is set up to look as if it were a perfectly normal room. However, the room is actually distorted. Every part of that room has trapezoidal surfaces to give it the effect that it needs without looking like a distorted room. The now famous opthalmolegist Adelbert Ames Jr. created something amazingly different for everyone. Ames room is now used in many amusement parks. Other than ames room it is also called the enchanted room. The optical illusion that are put together in one room make it seem enchanted to the people who have no clue as to what ames room means.
Making a model of Dr. Ames famous enchanted room ended up being more difficult than what it was thought to be. Measurements have to be precise in order to close the walls in. Choosing the decorations for the room have to be carefully planned as well. If not properly decorated the room might not give off the effect that is intended. The figueres or people you

For the Ames room a pinhole is used to look inside. This is to avoid any clues as to why the illusion is happening. There were many original designs before the final ames room. One of the designs was an “anti-gravity illusion”. What Dr. Ames wanted with that illusion was to make a ball roll up a hill, against gravity. However, that wasn’t his only optical illusion idea. Ames also wanted magnetic mountains.The idea of the magnetic mountains was to draw a row of trees through one of the witndows would make the water in the river appear as if it were traveling
