Have you ever thought of having a personal legend and reaching your goal by taking a very long journey? Personal legend can be a very long journey to reach your goals and dreams in life. I believe that you can always reach your goals and achieve your dreams if you believe in yourself. In the book “The Alchemist” by Paulo Coelho, Santiago dreams about the treasures and people tell him that he is not going to be able to achieve his dreams as well as make them come true. He decides to go to many different places and face many obstacles until he got to the treasures. There are four obstacles to overcome when reaching our dreams. He first dreamed about the treasures and decided to start a journey to get to the treasures. He did not give up even though he was facing many problems. He has hopes that he was going to reach his dream no matter what anyone else said. Santiago gets rubbed on his way to the pyramids and that causes him to stay in Africa for one year and work for crystal merchants but that does not stop him from chasing his dreams. He gets rubbed again when he gets to the pyramids and they think he stole the gold and he tells them how he had the dream about the treasures but they tell him to stop believing in his dreams and that saying still does not stop Santiago from chasing his dreams. In the book it states that “But he was able to understand one thing: making a decision was only the beginning of things. When someone makes a decision, he is really diving into a strong current that will carry him to places he had never dreamed of when he first made the decision.” page.68 paragraph 2. This quote states one of the obstacles and how Santiago overcame the obstacle in the book.
