Aging is an important aspect of life and planning must be done to ensure that as we age that we have the support and resources available that we need to be taken care of properly. Early this year, my grandmother became very ill and required around the clock attention. My family and I wanted to make sure she was taken care of physically, but we also wanted to make sure her meals were healthy and nutritious. Through word of mouth, I heard about the Meals on Wheels program that just happened to be in my county. Wesley’s Community Service Founded in 1992, Wesley Community Services (WCS) fosters and supports seniors seeking to remain in their home for as long as possible through the provision of essential home-based services including Meals-On-Wheels (MOW), specialized transportation and home/personal care. Wesley also has a Pet Portions Program (PPP) which offers free pet food for client’s pets and PetKare program (PKP) which offers vouchers for veterinary services for clients' pets. Even though Brookdale provide one the best nursing care, but recently Brookdale had been experiencing many critical incidents which involved wrongful death, horrific assault by the resident’s roommate, staff overmedicating patient, staff refused to perform Cardio Pulmonary Rescue for a dying resident, negligence and sexual assault. If I were to choose a medicare plan, I will choose the original medicare coverage which covers Plan A and Plan B.
