What Is The Best Memories Of My Childhood Essay

I was born and raised in Phoenix, Arizona until the age of seven. By the time I was turning eight, my Mother had moved me and my older brother Dave to the reservation. We moved to Sacaton, Arizona (on the Gila River Indian Community Reservation). We lived in a house on the last street called Wihog St. It was a white three bedroom, one bathroom, and floor had pale white tiles in all the rooms. Growing up in that house on held the best memories of childhood life

In the front yard there were red, yellow and, pink roses that my mother and I had planted. Our house faced towards the last roll of houses across the street and off to a distance behind those houses there is mountains, saguaro cactus and dry desert all around. The sound of children laughing and playing would filled through the neighborhood. Though, me and my brother are nine years apart, he and I share a birthday. I remember one year my mother threw a party for us. We invited the whole family over and some friends from the neighborhood. My brother worked that day and didn’t get to attend our party. At first I was sad, but then realized that it was probably going to be the first and only time I get to celebrate a birthday of my own. I chuckled at the thought of it. Some would play harmonicas or shake the tambourine. They would sing under the beautiful moon light. Some of the songs they sang were “Harvest Moon” by Neil Young, or Credence Clear Water’s “Sail away”. They sang so beautifully. It was like being at a live concert. The way they sand brought so much joy and happiness to your soul. Whenever, my mother was with her brothers, and sisters our home always filled with lots of love and laughter.
