Many feel like the minorities and poor are underserved. According to statistics, out of forty million workers, two out of five cannot have paid sick leave. In 2014, there were around 32 million uninsured Americans. In 2013, there were 41 million uninsured Americans. Many believe this decline came from the Affordable Care Act after it was implemented in 2013.
The Affordable Care Act has helped a wide range of Americans who did not have insurance. The ACA also helped decrease the percentage of part time workers who were without insurance. It also allowed adults aged 19 through 25 to remain on the insurance provided by their parents. Once they set the age limit, 82% of people between 19 to 25 were insured.
