Health care today is different than it was years ago. Health care makes new changes every single day. There are shifts taking place between providers and consumers, challenges that happen daily, and how health care is handling these challenges. Over the years, health care will continue to grow and change. Planning and following strategies will help the hospitals to be more successful for years and years to come. There will be less/more workers added/removed from the hospitals. Many years ago health care did not have the technology that it has today. Technology plays an important role in health care and it helps to improve the care of the consumers. It will help hospitals to look further in the future to better fulfill the company’s needs in this supply and demand economy. There are shifts taking place when it comes to the providers and consumers. Health care has went from a provider driven organization to a consumer driven organization. The Affordable Care Act (ACA) lets consumers control their own health care. It gives them the power to make changes and/or choices about their own health. The Affordable Care Act is the main cause for this shift in health care (Khan, 2014). The change in health insurance coverage is also a cause of this shift in health care. With the change in health insurance coverage patients can now search the countless different insurance plans and choose which one will best suit their needs and best suit their funds.
