Do you like to read? If you do, then you probably read either in paperback or digitally. Although paperback and digital books are both great ways of reading, they each have distinct advantages and disadvantages.
There are three categories in which some of the main advantages and disadvantages can be sorted into; Price, Enjoyment and Convenience. The first category price can vary for both ways of reading. Paperback books can be fairly expensive when bought one at a time and that’s similar for digital books as well. Satisfaction is a funny topic. You might think how is satisfaction even a topic? But, when you are reading satisfaction is actually a big part of it. We read to enjoy and we do things that are enjoyable and satisfiable. For paperback, as you read you can feel the texture of the pages, hear the crinkling noise of the pages as you flip it one by one, and you can sense how far you’ve read. You can use your 5 senses to experience the book! Unfortunately this isn’t as possible with digital books. You could feel how far you are into the book but you can’t tell intuitively. Another advantage to hardcopy books is that shape and sizes and vary. Since the sizes are diverse it adds a level of interest. Paperback has great advantages but digital books have a wonderful advantages as well. When you use digital books you can read in the dark! Reading in the dark is quite an impossible thing to do if you’re reading in paperback but it is certainly possible when you’re reading digitally! Another great advantage involves serieses. Serieses are a great form of literature but are a huge pain in the butt if too long. When you read digitally when you finish a book in a series, you can just pop back on to the shop and buy the next book in line! It is so much faster than buying actually in hardcopy and it adds a great deal of enjoyment factor. People say that sharing is caring but that is a little hard to do when you read digitally. If you read in paperback a great thing is that you can share your books with your friends so you can turn your friends into a fan for that book.
