Bilingual education is a topic that many individuals discuss either good or bad. Many individuals believe bilingual education should not be expanded because by allowing to pass the program, it would create a slow learning environment for the students. Students who are attending a bilingual education class may not experience the type of learning needed to perform in college in the future. A disadvantage of bilingual education is that it will not give the students an opportunity to learn the English language, so by reading textbooks the students will still find it hard to learn the English language. These skills are extremely important to succeed in this country. In fact, it is important to know the language of the country you are living in …show more content…
Being bilingual has many advantages and that’s where conservatives aren’t opening their eyes to see it, bilingual in today’s economy is the golden ticket to become successful. Companies around the world, if they become bilingual they will expand internationally and by being able to communicate in another language it will help the user have advantages in the workplace. “Research from Rosetta stone found that people who speak at least one foreign language have an average annual income that’s $10,000 higher than the household income of those who only speak English. And about 17 percent of those who speak at least one foreign language earn more than $100,000 a year” (Paula). Many workers agree that speaking more than one language not only does it make you stand out to those who only speak English, Spanish or any other language. As the world changes so does the job market realm, children who are taught to speak multiple languages at a young age will become golden in the job market. “In certain states and communities, the Spanish speaking population often outnumbers the English speaking population” (Occupy). Learning more than one language at a younger age will make the individual increase their ability to focus on learning new tasks and also helps in concentration. “Children who are able to communicate fluently with a variety of cultures and peoples are the ones who will rise to the top in a world that is becoming more far more global that anyone could have anticipated” (Occupy). People that become bilingual have the ability to focus on new tasks and also will increase concentration, help adapt to a changing world, and face problems of the future. “Studies have showed that bilingual education leads to increased brain growth and an increase in the person’s ability to handle multiple tasks at once” (Occupy). A child that learns more than one langue will not be afraid to take on new tasks in their future, they will have the knowledge to be able to work with a diverse group of people and will never give up or be scared to open new doors in
