1.1 Problem Statement
In today’s business world, teamwork is becoming more and more important. Adventure learning (AL) as an effective way of team-building has been adopted by many corporations. Adventure learning first introduced in the early 1980s. In recent years, adventure learning has become increasingly popular and the trend will continue. AL provides an environment that away from the workplace for participants. Participants have to adapt to the new situation and respond to challenge with which they are unfamiliar. During the training, they will use personal resources in different ways, and also need to adopt new skills and strategies. Usually, these skills they may not use in everyday life. In addition, adventure learning can result in discriminate against older employees or unlawful disability discrimination prohibited.
Another concern with adventure learning is individual who either religious dependent or born to have alternate thinking; they unable to accept touching next person or vice versa. It is an invasion of privacy for them. Some activities request team work with touching partner hand or shoulder may resulted uninteresting to this group of individual. This group of individual, might be multicultural group, cultural impact might turn the exercise upside down and will also create stress. And at the end, expected positive result might not as predicted.
Furthermore, during the activities, participants may think the activities are fun and meaningful. But they may be unable to connect what they learned to get back to their work.
Lastly, climate is an issue for adventure learning, since climate is the only uncontrol variable to the program, it may vary when raining or after raining is happened. Venue should not have too high or too low temperature. Trainee might fall ill for certain …show more content…
Negative relationship of higher changes in social support will led to lower changes in organizational identification. If trainee group over focus onto each other social support needs, trainee’s group will take longer time to develop inward focus which detracts from its commitment to higher organizational pre-set goal. As instance, an individual who is inward focus would lead to total exclusion by team members of higher organizational expectations and requirements of the team. Such disaster wills jeopardy an organizational team via internal team conflict among department or small group. Different group or department has their alternate objective in real business organization cycle. Therefore, while on the one hand, it is desirable to have positive changes in social-support that have been shown to improve team-spirit and consequent organizational-identification, on the other hand, such social-support changes could negatively influence organizational-identification if it is not carefully managed to prevent an inward looking
