The Adoration Of Jenna Fox takes place in California years in the future. The story began two weeks after a young, 17 year old girl, named Jenna Fox woke from a year long coma. When she woke, Jenna suffered from severe memory loss, causing her to not remember anything from her past life, not even her own parents. The strange thing about her memory loss though, is that she had perfect recollection on random subjects, but yet she could not remember anything from her own life. Jenna's mother was a very well-known restoration consultant in Boston before she quit to take care of her daughter, and her father was a very wealthy doctor and was the head of a medical research project. She made her way over to her neighbor, Mr. Bender’s house. From this little adventure she met her very first friend since she has woken up. She learned that Mr. Bender was an environmental artist, and that he was quite famous for it. While they were speaking about the high priced neighborhood that they lived in, Jenna had the first glimpse of how intelligent she actually was. She began blurting out facts that she hadn’t even known she knew. During this conversation, Mr. Bender also slipped up and revealed to Jenna that she had only lived there for two weeks, not the year that she thought she had been there. As Jenna left Mr. Bender’s house, he warned her to be careful where she wandered because of certain neighbors in their area. As Jenna was making her way back to her home, she had a bizarre and vivid flashback as she fell into the small creek, where she thought that she was drowning.
