Technology is always improving in every aspect of our lives with devices all around us, we use them in all sorts of medical advancements. Jenna Fox a seventeen year old girl represents these sorts of advancements in the book "The Adoration of Jenna Fox". When Jenna is in a terrible accident with her two best friends she is forced into a year long coma with a very possible death. With all these improvements in technology Jenna's father the creator of fox bio systems engineered a way that would save their daughter's life and eventually many more people as well, biogel. Proving that inventions like Mr.Foxes are possible and very effective towards the world. For instance, when Jenna finds out of her trapped friends , "You have another me trapped in that environment! And Kara and Locke!". (Pearson 200.)This Shows how much her parents were willing to risk to save their daughter's life, also they even put pressure on her friends as well. This also demonstrates how far technology has gone enough to store a mind and make a body filled with millions neurochips. For example, when Jenna remembers what it is like in the dream world, “Trust me , it’s not a dream world. Not by a long shot. It's more like a nightmare.”(pearson 200) This illustrates how hard it was on Jenna and for the parents to make such a difficult and daring decision to save their daughter in such a hard time. More specifically, when Allys’s parents asked for help seeing that Allys was very sick, “Our daughter is dying, Allys’s mother continues. Her face is rigid. Frightening. I watch her swallow, her hands tight fists at her sides. “‘Please can you helps ups’”.(pearson 259) This shows how with the help of Mr. Foxes invention Allys along with many more people can have a life their lives back. In other words, thanks to the parents decision to save Jenna many other lives were affected in a very good way and not just the people saved lives with their families as well. For Instance, when Jenna’s is far ahead into the future and has a family of her own, “I will travel to Boston in winter and I will stay there, taking long walks and feeling the softness of cold snowflakes on my face once again, because no parent should outlive their child”.(Pearson 264) This proves how other lives as well are affected by Jenna’s parent's decision to save her such as how Jenna then has her own daughter. This also demonstrates how the world can be affected by technological advancements and improvements in medical technology.
