From being depressed and in great sorrow to being the most jovial person alive even though he ended up dying with depression. When Mercutio and Tybalt were fighting in the streets of Verona, Tybalt killed Mercutio. At first Romeo was being very equal with Tybalt now that they were considered family, but when he saw Mercutio dead he wanted revenge. This all ended up with Romeo killing Tybalt. They chance of having the two houses reconcile again was gone. Romeo’s punishment was banishment from the city. When Romeo doesn’t know his consequence for killing Tybalt Friar Laurence sadly tells him, “Hence from Verona art thou banishèd. Be patient, for the world is broad and wide”(III,iii,15). Over all of this Juliet was depressed because she may never see Romeo again as she cries to the Nurse, “Wash they his wounds with tears?Mine shall be spent When theirs are dry, for Romeo’s banishment” (III,ii, 131-132). She tells the Nurse to even give her ring to him because she has just given up. Her husband can’t ever see her so she says this in her pool of sorrowness, “O, find him! Give this ring to my true knight, And bid him come to take his last farewell”(III,ii, 142-143).
